"I'm Mad as Hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore"

To all my friends who are Republicans, I apologize for the rant that I am about to shout.  I have tried not to venture into political opinions when writing my blog. But truthfully, I can't hold back anymore. I respect whatever anyone believes politically. But please don't tell me that you endorse Donald Trump. He lies to the country each and every day. He is totally unqualified to run this country. He acts like a two year old throwing tantrums and he twitters to change the dialogue when he doesn't get his way. It doesn't matter to me if you are far left or far right. What matters to me (and it should to all of you) is having an honest, intelligent, empathetic, informed individual looking out for our country. This man doesn't have a clue. At least surround yourself with intelligent, experienced people who would advise you to do the right thing. But, no one stays with him for long, because they can't tolerate his behavior. So as Peter Finch in Network says, "GET MAD.  Get up out of your chairs. Go to the window. Open it. Stick your head out and yell, I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore." 
"We know things are bad. They are worse than bad."


Have you seen Donald Trump Jr.'s instagram statement today? He asks, "You know why you can enjoy a day at the zoo? Because walls work. Is he actually saying a border wall is like zoo fence which protects you from animals (immigrants)? OMG-I can't even believe those words could be uttered out of any human being's mouth. Where is the compassion and empathy this country is known for? I wonder if Mueller will show him how well walls work....

Let's discuss Donald Trump Sr. ( I can't bear to address him as the President) who compared immigrants to a bowl of skittles in which some of the candies are poisoned. How can anyone support this man? He sets a horrendous example to our youth and to the world. Promoting hate and intolerance is not what this country was built on.
 "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamb beside the golden door."


Do you even realize how severely this government shut down affects our country? Do you fly on planes for vacation or business? Think twice and good luck-The FAA who inspects planes and who certifies pilot training are furloughed. No one is inspecting your plane before take off. Or if someone is, they are an overworked skeleton crew is doing all of it with out pay. There is virtually no safety oversight on your flight today. Air traffic controllers are working with no pay. It is unconscionable. The irony is Trump is so concerned about allowing terrorists into our country at the borders. Yet, for the past 20 days they can basically just fly in. TSA agents aren't being paid, but have to show up for work. Imagine the mental state and morale of all these airport employees forced to work, and not getting paychecks.


What else is being affected? I'll tell you. The Department of Homeland Security, the Justice Department, Housing and Urban Development, Commerce, The Treasury, Transportation, and Food Stamps.
The EPA is not operating at full strength. There are sensors to detect air pollution and chemicals in the air, and these reports (about the pollution) are delayed. Therefore, we are unaware of the air quality as it's happening in real time.


The FDA says most food inspections are halted during the shutdown. The agency typically conducts roughly 160 inspections per week and now there are none. These checks search for bug infestations, unclean conditions and contamination.  Beware of seafood and cheese as well as veggies. VERY SCARY.


As of today, there are 800,000 Federal employees furloughed without pay. They don't know how they will pay their mortgage, rent, electric bills, phone bills or buy food.
There is a need to reopen the government whether Trump gets a wall or not. He can sign a bill to do that. Republicans and Democrats MUST end this insanity. People want to work, and want to get paid.
And, let me remind you that the terrorists and the gun violence that has occurred in this country in the past years is not performed by immigrants seeking refuge from horrific conditions in their native countries and trying to come to the U.S. through our borders.  Rather,the violence has been by people who came through airports, or who have lived in the U.S. for years and often they are U.S. Citizens with guns. Too bad the NRA doesn't shut down-JUST SAYING.
