It's been a while....

The summer is quickly coming to an end, and I've had complaints that I have been MIA. In the blink of an eye, camp ends, kids go back to school, and the fall routines kick in.  I can honestly say that I can't wait. Enjoy the final days of summer. And, when you have a few minutes you can check out some of the below recommendations.

MUSIC
This summer I heard a  young woman named Maggie Rogers. She sounds like this generation's Joni Mitchell. Go to you tube and listen to "Alaska" and "Light On". Then buy her music! You won't be disappointed. Pharrell Williams discovered her.

BOOKS CURRENTLY ON MY NIGHTTABLE
Conversations with Friends by Sally Rooney
Normal People by Sally Rooney
There's a Word for That by Sloan Tanen
Evvie Drake Starts Over by Linda Holmes
Chances Are-by Richard Russo (his first novel in a decade).

WHAT I'M WATCHING ON TELEVISION
Succession-HBO. Sunday at 9. The second season just started. Aging patriarch of an international media company is deciding to either sell or turn the helm over to one of his 4 children. It's Great!

The Movies-CNN. Sunday at 9 or on demand. This is FABULOUS. Watch clips and interviews of directors and stars and their movies. Everyone has a favorite scene and they cover so many movies. The series is divided into the Golden Age, The 60's, The 70's, the 80's, the 90's and the 2000's. This is a must for movie buffs.

Pose-FX or Netflix.  A 1980's Dance Musical . Billy Porter stars, and it won the golden globe for Best TV Series. Subject matter explores the Trump era, the literary and social scene, and LGBTQ youth who have not been accepted by their families.  You decide...

Four Weddings and a Funeral-HULU. Mindy Kaling has done a remake of the original movie and turned it into a mini series. A light rom-com.

Burton and Taylor-PBS on demand. Just watched this movie by accident. Interesting to learn about their tumultuous love affair. Starring Helena Bonham Carter and Dominic West. I enjoyed it.

Diagnosis-Netflix. This is right up my alley. A documentary series that is based on the New York Times Column by Dr. Lisa Sanders. It's a medical mystery series and it's mesmerizing. She is the Dr. who inspired the television series House.

COMING TO TELEVISION IN THE FALL

The Morning Show-Apple TV. Sounds interesting-a series about the morning news shows. Starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon.

IN THE MOVIES NOW OR COMING SOON

After The Wedding-Directed by Bart Freundlich. Starring Billy Crudup, Michelle Williams, and Julianne Moore. This is a gender swap remake of the 2006 After the Wedding. I haven't seen it and it has received mixed reviews.

Blinded By The Light-British teen of Pakistani descent finds himself through the music of Springsteen. Directed by Gurinder Chadha, who directed Bend It Like Beckham. Out this weekend and it looks really great.

Where'd You Go Bernadette?-also out this weekend. Based on the novel, it has an all star cast. Cate Balanchett, Kristin Wiig, Billy Crudup, Laurence Fishburne, and Judy Greer. This didn't get good reviews, but I'm still interested. I liked the book.

The Goldfinch-Coming September 13th and I cannot wait! Based on one of my all time favorite novels by Donna Tartt, which won the 2014 Pulitzer Prize for fiction. Starring Luke Wilson, Nicole Kidman and Sarah Paulson. For me, this is a MUST SEE.

OK -LADIES THIS SECTION IS FOR YOU. WHAT I AM CURRENTLY TRYING IN MAKEUP:

Charlotte Tilbury Matt Revolution Pillow Talk $34. This is a nude lipstick that is for everyone. She makes great lipsticks and a nude is something most people want in their cosmetic bag.

Tatcha Silk Canvas Protective Primer $52. This is a basecoat that you use before applying your foundation. But this one doesn't clog your pores.

Hanacure Multi Action Mask $29. This is a Korean Facial mask filled with peptides and botanicals. A tightening mask that instantly makes your skin look tighter and younger. This is an instagram sensation-all the stars use it. It's worth the money-try it before a special event.

PEACE OUT-ONE B
